I am about to list my house, what do I do first?

REALPRO Associates will coach you through the best, easiest, and most cost effective improvements you can make to your home to present your home in it’s most marketable condition.

First, any small jobs should be addressed. For example, make sure all outlet covers are on, all light bulbs are working, all shingles are in tact, etc.

Next, Stage your home: Remove all clutter, and move furniture to ensure free flow for prospective Buyers. Go through the closets and dispose any items which will not be moved with you.

Then on to cleaning: Wash all woodwork and walls. You will be amazed how it will brighten not only your home but make feel fresh and clean. It may seem like a lot of work to prepare for showings, but, your home will sell itself if it is presented after these improvements are made.

Evaluating the placement and presentation of the furniture and belongings within your home may improve its marketability. We’ll personally assist you by coming to your home to help you to make those little changes that may all the difference in the world.

Is there a charge for Staging?


This valuable service is complimentary for those who list with REALPRO Associates. If you are interested in engaging our services as an a al carte item, your investment would be $50.00 per hour for staging consultation, with a two hour minimun.

Besides Staging, is there anything more I should do to improve marketability?


Yes, there is. Staging is a very important piece of the puzzle, but there is more. Start with closets. Go through one closet at a time and weed out all old clothes that you no longer wear.


After you have sorted, go through and take all seasonal items out for storage. Visualization is important and they need to see that the closet works well for the Seller. Second, get the clutter off the floor, clear out the unnecessary items that may cramp the size of a room. Clean, open space makes a room look larger than it may actually be. When small items clutter the floor the room appears smaller.

Staging-Moving out of your home:

What do I do with Items I no longer need?

We make sure that your belongings find their way to someone that can use them or needs them. Big Brother, Big Sister along with the Epilepsy Foundation will pick up right at your door. REALPRO Associates is more than happy to make arrangements to have items transported to a local shelter. We have had first-time homebuyers furnish their homes with pieces that homeowners like you have donated to the REALPRO Associates “Furniture Foundation”. REALPRO Associates can even assist you in preparing for your yard sale! Keep in mind when you go through your kitchen cabinets that REALPRO Associates will even donate food items that you will not use.
